News Update: Work And Progress. Week 41
Announcing Monthly Art Roundups
Hey everyone!
Recently, we’ve been very impressed by the fanart that many members of our community have been creating. Not only are many people regularly sharing fanart that they’ve created, but the recent art competition that we ran was incredibly well participated, and we’d like to keep up that momentum.
So, beginning in November, we’ll be running monthly fanart roundups. We’ll collect all of the fanart that you make and gather it together in one place for everyone’s enjoyment!
In addition, we’d love to see a much wider range of art forms published. So we’ll be opening the doors to any stories, poems or music as well as more painted/drawn art! We’d also love to see more people trying their hand at creating things – even if you aren’t particularly experienced, we want as many people as possible to try. Practice makes perfect!
We’ll try to do our best to gather up all art for every roundup, but to ensure that your stuff gets posted, please send it to Docterchese on the forums. The roundups will be posted to the forums and our social media outlets (e.g. Facebook.)
We literally can’t wait to see what you come up with! And, if the roundups are successful enough, then we’ll expand on the original concept, with monthly competitions, prizes and more…

P.S. We will do our utmost to respect the creators of all art that we post, and will be more than happy to remove any art from all of our outlets if so requested by the creator of that work.

Systems fully functional
- The connectivity issues that caused our game to be irresponsive have been dealt with and all systems are now up and functioning again.
- A few new rare crash bugs also occurred that brought the login server down. These will be dealt with asap.
Solving connectivity issues
- Due to an extreme influx of players we’ve ran into some connectivity issues which caused downtime. We have identified the problem and are resolving it right now.
New support ticket system
Hey everyone!
On Thursday the moderation team changed the way it deals with in-game support requests through the launch of an all-new in-game support ticket system.
Until now, your /support requests were posted to a hidden support chat channel which moderators used to respond to cases. This approach had many shortcomings and we felt it was high time for a brand new system which would solve many of these problems. That’s where Tich stepped in to develop a whole new system to do that job.
From now on, your in-game support requests will open up special ‘tickets’ – each with their own reference number – which stay open even if you have to log off. You can check on their progress by looking in the new Support tab which will show up next to your Event tab.
These tickets show information on the status of your support request. This includes information concerning if and when your ticket has been taken by a moderator, which moderator has taken it, any notes posted by that moderator, whether your ticket is on hold, been forwarded to a higher level moderator / developer, or has been resolved. You are also able to add further information yourself to the ticket in the form of notes when required.
Note however that tickets stay on the server on which they were made, so you would have to go back to that server to check on the status of a ticket or add new information.
You are now given the opportunity to provide survey-style feedback once your support ticket has been resolved. We will then use this information to improve our service in the future.

We as a team are confident this will mark a welcome and much sought after improvement to the way we handle support requests, which means much better service for the Wurm community.

A few custom kingdom changes
- Since custom kingdoms are meant to be a community feature and not a way to gain extra powers, the requirements to form one has been increased again to 40 players.
- For the same reason, custom kingdoms may no longer create new alliances. Existing kingdom alliances can remain though.
- The cost and time for casting wall spells have been tweaked upwards (to 400 karma)
- We are now using a new support ticket system
- The friend list has been updated in order to reduce the strain on the login server
Updated the money distribution system
- Since the bank/login server became overloaded today due to the new money distribution system, we have made it so that you now receive the money once every 60 seconds instead. We are sorry for the downtime and have compensated with sleep bonus.
