- As per the last weeks notifications, changes and updates to pricing, the enclosure rule is no longer effective and off-deed fences are no longer protected by the GMs.
- In an update soon to come (hopefully tomorrow), there will be tents which will help protect newbies. More info on the functionality when the update arrives.
- We still haven’t decided on a course of action regarding the highway rule so that one is still in effect.
Great test results
Todays Mega Server test was hugely successful. We were running a 1024 square kilometers modifyable map with 200 000 creatures and 300 players and measured 0 server lag. If we hadn’t run into issues with our Content Delivery Network, we’d have more players online but this gave us confidence that we can release this fantastic region.
We’ll announce release date for this map next week and keep you posted about any upcoming changes.
Thank you everyone who participated and you who tried to but couldn’t make it!
Mega Server 2 test soon starting
Time to download the new test client!
As usual, you find it at http://www.wurmonline.com/client/wurmclient_test.jnlp
The test starts in 30 minutes from this post. The server is online but denying connections right now.
The goal of the test is to see how many players the server can manage at once and how much lag is induced on the server.
The size of the server is 1024 square kilometers of fully modifiable terrain and it has 200 000 autonomous creatures roaming around. We encourage creating multiple accounts. There is no need to register, just select a unique name and log on.
We have disabled the “test” option where you could create a lot of items easily since it may have affected the test too much last time.
If you have issues downloading the graphics packs, you may have to delete the old test_graphics.jar files found in the packs folder.
Enjoy!
Experience Xanadu!

Xsolla and Loyalty Bonus System
- The Xsolla payment system has been implemented! A lot of new payment options are now available including PaySafe card and mobile payments via Boku.
- Expiry warnings are now sent via mail for accounts.
- In order to increase player retention we have created a “Loyalty Bonus Program” where you will receive bonuses for not letting your premium run out. Bonuses come in the form of titles, achievements and items, most notably illusion potions of increasing quality.
We wanted to make the Bonus Program backwards compatible, so we reward existing players for their investment in premium time with items at an increasing scale. You need active premium time in order to receive these bonuses. Go to a token and select Reimbursements to see what you get! - A bug where fight skill could become set to max 20 when you ran out of premium should be fixed. Accounts that this happened to should have their skill back to normal or a bit higher.
- The chance for increasing rarity by combining materials was too high and has been tweaked downwards.
- The max creatures figure on Serenity was fixed
New ingame music!
We are really excited to announce the new album made for Wurm Online by Tom E Morrison, “Wurm Online Travel & Exploration”.
The music was released on iTunes and Spotify earlier this week, and you can hear it ingame today.
Compared to the previous album, “Meditation & Work”, these new songs are designed for travelling and have a higher overall tempo and a contemporary sound. Even though the soundscape works very well with the long roads, vast plains and distant mountain ranges of Wurm, this is not your common fantasy music.

Album cover
The album tells a story about travelling through the lands of Wurm and the song titles contain a few names that players may recognize such as Iron Gap or Haven Bay. Initially the album contained a song called “Meeting the Blood Roy” as well, but it was replaced.
As usual, the songs in Wurm play only now and then according to certain algorithms and in order to hear these new tracks you have to venture out of your settlement.
In case you can’t wait for the music to play ingame, here are a few handy links where you can find the album:
iTunes: https://itunes.apple.com/ie/album/wurm-online-travel-exploration/id768175554
Spotify: Tom E Morrison – Wurm Online – Travel & Exploration: Chapter 1
The next album will be named “Wurm Online Battle & Danger” and the project is scheduled to begin during the spring of 2014.
